The day was around December in winter season, we as a family i.e. parents, brothers and sisters as well as I and my souse with my children all went out early in the morning packing our bags for Sundarbans. For that he had to reach Sealdah station first. From there, I had to take a local train and get down at Cunning station. Then by auto we reached Sonakhali Launch Ghat. The journey to enter the Sundarbans begins with this launch. As I stepped into the launch, my excitement doubled with the roar of the water. We started entering the heart of Sundarbans little by little by launching. We are surrounded by forests and in the middle of the river. This scene may not be expressed in words.

The name Sundarbans is really meaningful. Many people may not know how beautiful this place is. After going for quite some time, we saw the beautiful, garan, ganewa, hetal forest thicket. Also many unknown trees. Many places are surrounded by nets from the banks to prevent animal attacks. The sweet chirping of birds floated in from both sides of the river and eyes were on the lookout for any wild animals. Suddenly the famous Gangetic Dolphin or ‘Shushuk’ in the current language came into view. After some distance, a huge crocodile was seen basking in the sun on a winter afternoon. Sundarbans is rich in natural diversity. From our guide, I learned that there are about 350 species of plants spread across these two countries, India and Bangladesh. Most of these are mangrove plants. When I got off the launch, the sun was about to sink into the western sky.

The main attraction of Sundarbans is the Royal Bengal Tiger. Most tourists come to the Sundarbans with the hope of seeing tigers. But it may not be successful for everyone. After spending the night at the hotel, I went out the next day for a jungle safari. A strange magical silence surrounds nature in the whole area. In the meantime, somewhere in the dense forest, the sun is shining, somewhere it’s dark. I learned about different types of flowers and plants from the guide. The land of Sundarbans is an absolute paradise for a variety of wildlife. Everyone is eager to see the tiger. But that didn’t happen anymore. I saw some tiger footprints which are clearly visible in the clay. There are some tourist spots to visit from the launch. I saw several herds of deer, snakes, forest cats and all kinds of strange and beautiful unnamed birds.

Since Sundarbans is a river-centered area, the whole tour has to be done by launching. There is an opportunity to visit some places. There are some high-rise hotels made of bamboo wood. Overnight accommodation is also provided on the launch.

Spend the night in an overnight launch this winter surrounded only by jungles and roaring tigers. This is a truly thrilling experience. Even though we were in the hotel, the sound of various animals and the cozy atmosphere all night reminded us that we were living in the Royal Bengal Tiger area. I have traveled to many places but never experienced travel like Sundarbans. Eating and drinking, cooking, dancing, singing, rejoicing, taking pictures, mud bone forest chicken broth, flock of red crabs can be tasted together only when traveling to the Sundarbans.
